Confluence is formed from solid chestnut, selected for the extraordinary figuring, burr and natural voids running through the slab.
Rather than removing those irregularities, Roast resin has been used to preserve them, flowing into the fissures and around the natural edges of the timber. The result is a surface where wood and resin appear to converge rather than simply sit alongside one another.
The oval form softens the complexity of the chestnut, while the dark resin provides a strong contrast to its warm golden tones. Areas of dense figuring give way to quieter grain, making the character of the table change as you move around it.
Confluence is a one-of-a-kind studio piece, shaped by the individual character of the original slab rather than a predetermined pattern.
