The composition of the piece is defined by these contrasting forms — darker walnut figures appearing almost as islands within the paler sapwood, giving the surface a strong visual structure while preserving the natural character of the slab.

Rather than overwhelming the timber, the resin sits subtly within the natural voids, strengthening the structure while allowing the grain and organic shapes of the walnut to remain dominant.
