Drift 2/3 is formed from solid walnut, combining pale sapwood with the darker heartwood running through its centre.
The long natural void has been retained and filled with Mocha resin, following the original shape of the timber rather than imposing a conventional straight edge.
Fine dark spalting and natural markings travel through the walnut, giving this piece a particularly graphic character. The contrast between the pale outer timber, dark central grain and warm resin makes it the most dramatic of the three Drift pieces.
Drift 2/3 is one of three individual tables created from the same walnut slab. Each works independently, while the shared timber and resin treatment connects the three as a series.
