Drift II is formed from solid walnut, selected for the striking movement revealed within the grain of the slab.

A natural channel runs through the timber, stabilised with dusk-tinted resin that forms a darker band flowing along the length of the piece.

The contrast between pale sapwood and the deeper walnut heartwood creates a strong visual rhythm, guiding the eye across the surface.

This table forms part of the Drift Series, three pieces created from the same tree.

Each piece represents a different section of the original slab, preserving the natural variation and character present within the timber.

The resin is used with restraint, strengthening the structure while allowing the organic grain patterns of the walnut to remain the dominant feature.

Viewed from different angles, the flowing lines within the grain shift and deepen, while the refined bevel transitioning to the live edge keeps the form visually balanced and light.
