Memory I Sycamore and resin table by INSIGNI

Memory I is formed from solid sycamore, selected for the intricate figure revealed within the slab.

Natural voids and areas of burr are stabilised with dusk-tinted resin, creating darker pools that move through the pale timber.

The interaction between these elements gives the surface a layered, almost landscape-like quality when viewed from above.

This piece forms part of the Memory Series, two works created from the same original slab.

Each table reveals a different aspect of the timber’s character, preserving the natural variation that existed within the tree.

The resin is used with restraint, strengthening the structure while allowing the delicate grain and organic forms of the wood to remain dominant.

Viewed from different angles, the surface reveals new details within the figure, while the refined chamfered edge keeps the form visually light and balanced
